Raegan Willow – A story of miracles

“January of last year to my surprise I was pregnant. You know that part in a movie where the girl sees the positive result then slides down the wall and starts to ball her eyes out. Yep! That was me. After the initial shock wore off my husband and I. We had begun to except the fact that I was pregnant with my 4th child, we shared the news only with our kids and family. Sadly in February the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, I felt like my heart had broken into a million pieces. I mourned for what could have been, I mourned for another sweet girl. Through all the tears came a knock on the door and my neighbor stood there saying to me “when a door closes, he opens a window” long story short. That conversation led to the purchase of our first home allowing us to stay in the neighborhood we had come to love. My daughter age 11 had her own way of mourning the loss. A hand written note to God praying for a baby sister and praying for her mom to be okay. Move in date was April 30th. As our excitement and answered prayers were being delivered upon So was Brookes. February 1st we welcomed our precious little angel Raegan Willow she is everything I imagined she would be. An answer to prayer our little unexpected blessing.” – Nikki (Mommy of Reagan Willow)

I was blessed with the opportunity to capture Nikki’s Maternity and Newborn sessions. I am so grateful. She is a beautiful person inside and out. After reading her words I realized as photographers we only get to see what we capture at the moment but behind every portrait there is always a story of hope. I’ve been through a miscarriage myself and I know how painful that moment can be. With the Grace of God I’ve been able to carry through. After reading Nikki’s story it really did hit home. But seeing how much joy she shows and how much she loves her family, is so beautiful. I am so thankful that I was able to capture these moments for her.

For photographers: I used my Nikon D800+85mm through this session. My source to bring some dreamy light was all natural. No reflectors were used. Here is a little behind the scenes. BEHIND THE SCENES.
